U.S. Service Members Killed in Iran Drone Strike in Kuwait Identified

(MENAFN) The Pentagon on Tuesday released the identities of four of the six US military personnel killed when an Iranian drone struck a command facility in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait — a retaliatory blow following the US-Israeli offensive launched over the weekend.

The strike, which took place Sunday, hit personnel actively supporting "Operation Epic Fury," the joint American-Israeli military campaign against Iran, the Defense Department confirmed in an official statement.

The four service members were named as Capt. Cody Khork, 35, of Lakeland, Florida; Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Amor, 39, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; Sgt. 1st Class Noah Tietjens, 42, of Bellevue, Nebraska; and Sgt. Declan Coady, 20, of Des Moines, Iowa.

Lt. Gen. Robert Harter, chief of the Army Reserve and commanding general of US Army Reserve Command, paid tribute to the fallen in a formal statement.

"We honor our fallen Heroes, who served fearlessly and selflessly in defense of our nation. Their sacrifice, and the sacrifices of their families, will never be forgotten," he said.

The deaths come amid a rapidly intensifying regional conflict. US and Israeli forces launched sweeping strikes against Iran on Saturday, killing nearly 800 people — including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and senior military officials — triggering a fierce Iranian counterstrike involving more than 500 ballistic missiles and upward of 2,000 drones directed at Israel and Gulf states housing US military assets.

US Central Command chief Gen. Brad Cooper said Tuesday that over 50,000 troops, 200 fighter aircraft, and two aircraft carriers remain engaged in "Operation Epic Fury," with nearly 2,000 targets struck using more than 2,000 munitions since the campaign began.
